Here I go again. I was diagnosed with Cushing's several years ago and had a pituitary tumor removed in March, 2003.
I was going through several major life changes at the time, which may have contributed to my long recovery--won't go into that here. Anyway, I had finally lost some weight, and my blood pressure/diabetes, etc. was good with medication. Then we ordered my 24 hour urine test, which we'd check every year or two, and the numbers were high. Repeat tests along with a couple others show my Cushing's is back.
I was in Houston, TX the first time. Now I am in the panhandle of Florida, and will have to travel to Gainesville for the next test, which sounds awful--petrosal sinus sampling--they couldn't locate the tumor with my MRI. I'll be logging in every so often. I don't even have my appointment yet with the Endo in Gainesville as I'm waiting for insurance clearance. I have the fatigue and swollen feet, but luckily I have a sit down job.
Looking forward to getting to know folks and their situations--you know how frustrating it can be when other people don't have a clue what we're really dealing with!!
I"m 50, divorced, with a 20 year old son away at college--will have to rely on elderly parents/friends when the time comes for surgery.
I think it's worse knowing what I'm in for this time....
